Tips for Picking Out New Shoes
Time for a fresh pair of shoes but you don't know where to start? We help you narrow down what you are looking for so you can find the perfect pair.
Looking for skate shoes?
Material
Suede is your best option when it comes to durability. Canvas is breathable but breaks downs quickly. Leather is durable but runs warmer and can become uncomfortable if your feet run hot. Look out for double or triple stitching if you need added durability and perforation or venting of any kind if your feet run hot.
Soles
Vulcanized soles offer the best board feel but least amount of support and protection. Cupsoles can feel bulkier and may give you less board feel. However, they are the most supportive and offer the best impact protection.
Looking for a good pair of summer shoes?
Opt for lighter weight canvas fabrics during the summer months. Canvas is super breathable and perfect for warmer temps. Some brands (like Reef and Sanuk) make shoes that can be worn barefoot. These have a rubber-like insole that will prevent stank by not absorbing moisture like traditional insoles.
